Silverlight emerged as a web browser plug-in but today it happens to be doing much more. It enables users to create dazzling interactive user experiences, and is being increasingly utilized for new and exciting purposes.

What Silverlight books should be delivering...
A lot of Silverlight books have been published recently but most of them focus on experienced or advanced users. However, in reality, there exists a range of audience for information on Silverlight. This range runs from absolute beginners to seasoned professionals. So, there's a need of books which can deliver information to meet the requirements of these different types of audiences.
Packt wants to develop focused and practical Silverlight book...
Packt has already published a number of successful books on Silverlight, including Microsoft Silverlight 4 Data and Services Cookbook and Microsoft Silverlight 4 Business Application Development: Beginner’s Guide. We are keen to expand on this series of titles and develop Silverlight books across a range of existing series, from Beginner’s Guides and Cookbooks, to advanced tutorials for the more advanced application of Silverlight.
We are interested in producing books that are as focused, specific, and highly practical as possible. We are keen to hear ideas for Silverlight books aimed at communities of developers, administrators, and newbies alike. Authors who can make this vision an achievable reality are invited to contact us with their book ideas (if they have one) or otherwise.
We are also excited to invite those with access to Silverlight 5 through the Early Adopter program. Insight into exciting new Silverlight features would be an invaluable asset while writing for Packt.

- Expertise in the area you are interested in writing on, along with real-world experience of working with Silverlight.
- The ability to put yourself in reader’s shoes, and show them how to do things they’ll find most useful.
- Having official recognition as a Microsoft MVP is always a big plus, but is by no means a necessity.
