Q: How did you become an author for Packt? Tell us about your journey. What was your motivation for writing this book?

Saleh: When I first started learning about the fields of machine learning and their applications in biotechnology and life sciences, it was difficult finding comprehensive introductory books and resources. To help other scientists and engineers familiarize themselves with the field, I decided to compile all of my research, my projects and my graduate work together into this publication.

Q: Did you face any challenges during the writing process? How did you overcome them?

Saleh: The hardest part of the writing process was balancing the amount of code and scientific application to include within the book. The objective was to appeal to those who are just getting started all the way to executives wishing to bring this subject into their organization.

Q. What’s your take on the technologies discussed in the book? Where do you see these technologies heading in the future?

Saleh: The field of artificial intelligence has been one of the main drivers of emerging technologies; it has impacted every industry and every field of work, and I believe it will continue to play an increasingly relevant role in development going forward.
