Q: What is/are your specialist tech area(s)?

Carlos: React & Web Development

Q: How did you become an author for Packt? Tell us about your journey. What was your motivation for writing this book?

Carlos: This is my 3rd book so far, I become author because someone from Packt invited me to write my first book (React Cookbook) which I really enjoyed writing. I like to write books because that forces me to learn more and improve my skills.

Q: What kind of research did you do, and how long did you spend researching before beginning the book?

Carlos: Well normally I research what are the new features on React on the official blog and following the React community in general

Q: What’s your take on the technologies discussed in the book? Where do you see these technologies heading in the future?

Carlos: React is the most popular JS framework and more companies are migrating to this technology for all their new projects.

Q: Why should readers choose this book over others already on the market? How would you differentiate your book from its competition?

Carlos: I think the main difference of my book from others, is that I’m teaching real projects examples and not just basic codes like normally other books do.

Q. What are the key takeaways you want readers to come away from the book with?

Carlos: The readers will learn a lot of the best practices on React and how to use its new features like Suspense or the Hooks.

Q. What advice would you give to readers learning tech? Do you have any top tips?

Carlos: My advice is that they never stop learning even if gets hard some times, if you continue studying at some point this will become easier.

Q. Do you have a blog that readers can follow?

Carlos: No, but I have a Youtube channel http://js.education

Q. Can you share any blogs, websites and forums to help readers gain a holistic view of the tech they are learning?

Carlos: https://reactjs.org/blog

Q. How would you describe your author journey with Packt? Would you recommend Packt to aspiring authors?

Carlos: My experience has been great so far, I recommend anyone who wants to become an author to do it with Packt.

Q. Do you belong to any tech community groups?

Carlos: I have a Latin American tech community called Dev Education (https://twitter.com/D3vEducation)

Q. What are your favorite tech journals? How do you keep yourself up to date on tech?

Carlos: Well I normally develop personal projects using new technologies to be up to date all the time.

Q. How did you organize, plan, and prioritize your work and write the book?

Carlos: I normally write on the weekends and some days at night, I guess I get more inspiration at night.

Q. What is that one writing tip that you found most crucial and would like to share with aspiring authors?

Carlos: I guess if you have passion for the technology you’re teaching that will make it easier for you to write.
