Vincent Maverick Durano is the author of ASP.NET Core 5 for Beginners, we got the chance to sit down with him and find out more about his experience of writing with Packt.

Q: What is/are your specialist tech area(s)?

Vincent: Web Devlopment, C#, .NET Core, Cloud

Q: How did you become an author for Packt? Tell us about your journey. What was your motivation for writing this book?

Vincent: Ed Price invited me as co-author for our newly released book entitled ASP.NET Core 5 for Beginners. My main motivation is that the technology is most recent version of .NET and Blazor stuff.

Q: What kind of research did you do, and how long did you spend researching before beginning the book?

Vincent: I spent my entire career building things using the.NET stack and I always keep myself up to date. So, most of the research I did was just for validation purposes to ensure that my wording is not outdated.

Q: Did you face any challenges during the writing process? How did you overcome them?

Vincent: The challenge was keeping the content pages count as agreed. Most of my chapters were huge and I had a hard time figuring out to squeeze them.

Q: What’s your take on the technologies discussed in the book? Where do you see these technologies heading in the future?

Vincent: .NET 5 and Blazor are the most exciting things that happen in .NET. They will be incredibly a hit in the near future. That’s for sure!

Q. Why should readers choose this book over others already on the market? How would you differentiate your book from its competition?

Vincent: The step by step real examples coupled with illustrations and detailed explanation makes this book stand out among others.

Vincent: Technology is a constant change, so make sure to keep yourself to date. This book gives you a head-start in learning the latest .NET development.

Q. How would you describe your author journey with Packt? Would you recommend Packt to aspiring authors?

Vincent: Smooth. Overall, it was fun and great experience!

Vincent: Yes. MS MVP, Codeproject MVP, Csharpcorner MVP , TechNet, and .NET Foundation

Q. How did you organize, plan, and prioritize your work and write the book?

Vincent: Draft the content and then set a dedicated time to work on the drafts.

Q. What is that one writing tip that you found most crucial and would like to share with aspiring authors?

Vincent: Be open to suggestions and put yourself in the readers shoes. When you write something that requires coding. Make sure you don’t miss any simple steps.
