Sandeep Saini is the author of ‘BBC Micro:bit in Practice’; we got the chance to sit down and find out more about his experience of writing with Packt.

Q: What are your specialist tech areas?

Sandeep: Robotics, VLSI, Electronics 

Q: How did you become an author for Packt? Tell us about your journey. What was your motivation for writing this book?

Sandeep: I got in touch with my friend Ashwin who is already an author with Packt group.

Q: What kind of research did you do, and how long did you spend researching before beginning the book?

Sandeep: I have been working on this board for around 3 years and collected the list of experiments in this time.

Q: Did you face any challenges during the writing process? How did you overcome them?

Sandeep: No, it was a smooth process.

Q. What’s your take on the technologies discussed in the book? Where do you see these technologies heading in the future?

Sandeep: Single board computers and microconrollers will lead the field of IoT.

Q: Why should readers choose this book over others already on the market? How would you differentiate your book from its competition?

Sandeep: The book is one of its kind to have microPython based programming of micro:bit. Most of the books teach through Scratch and limited functionalities.
